Backline Charity 2012 - Macmillan Cancer Support
It is with great pleasure to announce that our chosen Charity for 2012 is Macmillan Cancer Support.
Macmillan Cancer Support is one of the largest British charities and provides specialist health care, information and financial support to people affected by cancer. As well as helping with the medical needs of people affected by cancer, Macmillan also looks at the social, emotional and practical impact cancer can have, and campaigns for better cancer care. Macmillan Cancer Support's goal is to reach and improve the lives of everyone living with cancer in the UK
We hope to raise in the region of £5k this year for the charity.
So far we have planned:
- Kelly Hughes and Pete James to run the Great West Run (13miles) in May 2012 (not long for training!)
- Wear a Wig Macmillan Day in April - this will be arranged for any of our drivers to purchase a Silly Green Afro Wig and wear it for the day
- We are also looking to organise our very own Backline Olympics. This will involve all Backline Staff and Families, Select Drivers and Families and some of our clients.
- In September we are also looking at taking part in the Biggest Coffee Morning. Many local businesses also take part in this so show your support and get baking!
