Backline Christmas Dinner 2011
This year’s Christmas dinner was held at Woodbury Park Golf and Country Club, hosted by Managing Director David Scanlan.
The dinner followed the Christmas Golf Competition. The Individual winner was Outbase manager Kelly Hughes, who also won the team competition alongside Jamie Scanlan (who was adopted by the Exeter office for the day !!) Congratulations to them for winning, and well done to all those who played, after what was described as in “interesting” day of weather, more akin to walking on Dartmoor than traversing a golf course!!
The dinner itself, held in the beautiful surroundings of Woodbury Park’s Atrium, was a lovely three-course meal, with the various branches and departments mingling around the tables, enjoying good food and excellent conversation. Some of the staff had not met until this moment, and everyone was made to feel extremely welcome.
The after dinner speech was made by sales director Julian White, despite other’s best efforts of singing ‘Delilah’ across him. During his speech, he announced the winner of Branch or the Year for 2011. This year it was won by the all girl branch at Yeovil. Manager Kate Higgins and her team topped the poll, out performing their fellow branches (L-R Gemma, Kate and Natalie)
The evening was finished off with some excellent dancing, (not mentioning any names, but a certain Ops Director was certainly shaking his booty) and maybe a few small glasses of something.
